Who is Crazy? (Due October 2, 2009)

We have all known individuals (friends) that have strange or bizarre behaviors either in real life or in the media (films and TV). Choose 3 tests from http://psychcentral.com/quizzes/ and take a test using the behaviors you have noted in these individuals. Are these individuals diagnosable using these tests? Or are they just eccentric?

I don't think people are really going to be able to be diagnosed using these quizzes. The answers are multiple choice, its not hard to figure out the pattern, and today we have a worrisome society; meaning if we think we're depressed, we know the things to say to make the doctor think that. To be diagnosed you need to see a real professional, not take a quiz online.

  3. 1)You scored a total of 94

It is highly likely that you are presently suffering from adult attention deficit disorder, according to your responses on this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional immediately.

    haha i already knew that

    2)You scored a total of 48

You appear to be moderately to severely manic from your responses to this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, if would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek further diagnosis from a trained mental health professional soon to rule out a possible manic disorder.

    3)You scored a total of 15

Based upon your responses to this screening measure, you are most likely suffering from an obsessive-compulsive disorder. You can view symptoms and treatment options for this disorder. This is not a diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. 4. 1) therapy test score: 22
From the information you provided, you appear to be someone who might benefit from psychotherapy from a mental health professional at this time. You appear from your responses to be grappling with a problem in your life that is causing you some concern. People in situations similar to yours often find that talking things over with a therapist can help them get back on track.

well it looks like i need to recommend some therapy for someone...

    2) OCD test score: 10 Based upon your responses to this screening measure, it is probable you are suffering from an obsessive-compulsive disorder.

in that case, i'm pretty normal i suppose.

    3) mania test score: 54
You appear to be severely manic from your responses to this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. You can view symptoms and treatment options for this disorder. This is not a diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek a professional diagnosis from a trained mental health professional in your community immediately.

The thought of me having OCD has crossed my mind more than once. I wouldn't say it's a mild or severe case. I wouldn't say I'm diagnosable just by taking this test.

    2.) Mania Test Score: 23
You appear to suffer from mild to moderate mania from your responses to this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, you may want to look into seeking further consultation with a trained mental health professional if you are experiencing any difficulties in daily functioning or if you'd like a more in-depth answer.

Understandable. Pretty normal, I would say since teenagers do go through quie a few mood swings.

    3.) ADD Test Score: 17
You have answered this self-report questionnaire in such a way as to suggest that you do not likely currently suffer from an attention deficit disorder. You should not take this as a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment in any way, though.

Yes and no, because what some of the outcomes said was true for me. So i think you could be partly diagnosed if you answered the questions correctly but if you didn't then no. But, then again if you did answer all them honestly it doesn't exactly mean that you are what the outcome says.

  10. 1) Results for test #1 for a bipolar screening for a friend of mine were 35 which means the individual could most likely be diagnosed with bipolar disease.
    2) The results for test #2 of a friend of the family states a score of 3 or higher could mean the parent suffers from PTSD after discovering her daughter was sexually abused.
    3) The results for test #3 for a family member scored a total of 11, meaning they could suffer anywhere from little to mild anxiety.

These individuals could not be diagnosed under these tests. These tests are not a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment.

Anxiety Quiz; Test #2, I did on a good friend of mine, and scored 15, and its possible that they could have mild to little anxiety.

Depression Quiz; Test #3, I did on another good friend of mine, scored 42, and its possible that they have moderate/severe depression. (Which I think is extremelyyyy possible with this one.)

On the last test I got Borderline ADHD which is interseting because I Know that i'm straight up ADHD. I used to take Concerta for it and everything. But i think the there were a couple of facters to why i got just borderline and not full ADHD on the test. first off most of the questions were basically based on hyperness and thinking first and whatnot and since i stoped takin meds for my ADHD in 6th grade i've learned to control hyperness and that kind of thing alot since then. I was real bad about hyperness back then too. my main problem now is with concentrating and most of the questions weren't about that so I only got borderline ADHD, But I guess it's good that I can control my hyperness and thinking so good now without the concerta

ADD Quiz 39: You appear to suffer from mild attention and concentration difficulties according to your responses to this self-report questionnaire. You should not take this as a diagnosis of any sort, or a recommendation for treatment. However, you may want to look into seeking further consultation with a trained mental health professional if you are experiencing any difficulties in daily functioning due to these difficulties or if you'd like a more in-depth answer.

Autism 17: You have answered this autism screening in such a way as to suggest that you are not likely currently suffering from an austism spectrum disorder, including Asperger's disorder.

You should not take this as a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment in any way, though.

Psychotherapy 17: From the information you provided, you appear to be someone who would not benefit from psychotherapy from a mental health professional at this time. The issues you appear to be grappling with, from the responses you gave, are typically not the kinds that people seek or benefit from professional treatment.

You should keep in mind that this quiz is just a snapshot in time, and therefore would likely change as your life events change and you face new challenges. Feel free to stop back in the future if you feel overwhelmed by stress or things happening in your life to double-check whether therapy might be helpful for you.

  69. it said my score was a 21 so its like borderline depressed.

You appear to be experiencing some depressive symptoms which are often common amongst the general population, but border on the possibility of a depressive episode. It is unclear as to whether you suffer these problems severely enough to need to seek further diagnosis and treatment of them. You should not take your responses to this self-report questionnaire as a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment of any sort. Consult with a trained mental health professional if you are experiencing depressive feelings and/or difficulties in your daily functioning that you are worried about.

  70. i knew i was ocd before i took this test

Based upon your responses to this screening measure, you are most likely suffering from an obsessive-compulsive disorder. You can view symptoms and treatment options for this disorder. This is not a diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. However, it would be advisable and likely beneficial for you to seek a professional diagnosis from a trained mental health professional in your community immediately.

  71. i got a 1 on the schizophrenia test

You have answered this schizophrenia screening in such a way as to suggest that you are not likely currently suffering from schizophrenia or a schizophrenia-related disorder. Because no online test is 100% accurate, please be aware that this does not necessarily mean you do not have schizophrenia, only that this particular quiz did not find sufficient evidence to suggest that you do. You should not take this as a diagnosis or recommendation for treatment in any way. If you have concerns regarding your mental health or well-being, please consult a trained mental health professional for further assistance.

  74. test #1
    Depression:
    Score: 44

    test #2
    Bi-Polar:
    Score: 56

    test #3
    OCD:
    Score: 23

For the first test i scored my mom's depression. based on what i know she scored a 44. Depression doesnt interfeer with her doing what makes her happy but does effect what makes her sad, intencifiing it. there's no doubt in my mind she'd be diagnosed with Depression if she actually saw a Psychologist.
For test 2 and 3 i scored myself on BiPolar and OCD. I do not believe i am OCD [even though people say i am because i like things in order -just a perfectionist!] Though i do believe if i were to be dyagnosed by a Psychologist i would be bipolar. i've thought this for a few years and have all the symptoms.
